Abandoning a promising career with the medical elite, Dr Touma opts to station himself in a small city hospital. Mayor Okawa is admitted with cirrhosis of the liver requiring a crucial transplant. At about the same time, a brain-dead patient is also admitted who happens to be an exact match. In a contentious compelling drama, Touma must decide his next course of action, and fast. |

Interesting Note:
A Lone Scalpel is based on a medical-themed novel written by real-life doctor Toshihiko Ohgane. |
