Ninja Kids!!!

A Boy and His Samurai
© 2011 Live action Nintama-rantarou the Movie committee

Takashi Miike’s Ninja Academy is now open!

The New York Times has hailed it as “a raucous comedy with a talented cast of child actors that’s part Naruto, part Harry Potter”. Based on a long running Japanese TV show, Rantaro the Ninja Boy, this live-action adaptation comedy is perfect for families and all ages.

The latest in a long line of failed ninjas, young Rantaro is sent off to ninja school to learn all the tricks of the trade and hopefully break the cycle. During the term, Rantaro and his fellow ninjas-in-training are placed in whacky absurd scenarios, encountering a circus of colourful characters. Think manic energy, the silly and the strange – Ninja Kids!!! is a whirlwind of hilarious Japanese comedy, the Miike way.
