| The legendary SF animation is a live-action film at last. |
| |
In 2199, five years after the start of the Gamilans’ attack on Earth, the planet has been ravaged by nuclear bombs and the last remaining humans have fled underground. Former pilot Susumu Kodai discovers a capsule from the planet Iskandar telling of a device that can remove radiation from the Earth's surface. In preparation to defend the earth, The United Nations of Space Administration rebuilds the battleship Yamato with a new type of propulsion system, enabling it to make the long trip to Iskandar and back. With limited time, Kodai must pilot the advanced Space Battleship Yamato and save the world from extinction. Based on the world famous 1980's anime series, starring Takuya Kimura (SMAP). |
